Joan Kennedy

Joan established her business in 1994 after many years raising her family. In the 70s Joan dreamed of self-sufficiency and was always busy with her vegetable garden, chooks, spinning, knitting and hand embroidery. She also made children’s clothing and sold it at local markets. This early industry and her love of hand embroidery were the seeds that grew to become The Linen Press.

Joan’s love of Australian flora and fauna were reflected in the very original designs and they are still ongoing today. She now handles most aspects of the business – from answering the phone to working on product development, packing orders and turning her hand to whatever needs to be done.

Susy Kennedy

Susy, Joan’s daughter, joined the business in 1998. At the time Susy was studying civil engineering, but while assisting Joan when needed she soon found that The Linen Press was her true passion. After the birth of Susy’s daughter in 2008 she became more conscious of the environmental impact the business was having and from that The Linen Press decided to work towards finding alternative environmentally friendly products. Susy now manages product development and assists Joan and the rest of team where and when help is needed.

Kaye Daniel

Kaye joined us in early 2010 after an extensive career in the legal field. Ready for a change in direction Kaye now manages all administrative office requirements. There’s a good chance Kaye is the person you will speak to when you call or receive an email from (assuming she’s not away on one of her many overseas jaunts – she’s a big traveller)!

Lakshmi Ganesan

Lakshmi (Lucky) joined us in mid-2009 to assist with packing orders. She now manages the packing department and stock levels. Lucky studies yoga and travels to India as often as possible with her husband and two sons to visit her family. She also often spoils staff with a culinary journey into the world of Indian food!

Susana Fili

Susana joined us in October 2009 to assist Lucky with packing orders and with preparing the parcels for post. Susana has brought a unique skill set to The Linen Press and is a ‘can do’ kind of girl. She can turn her hand to anything – whether this is a natural talent or brought about by having to manage six children we can’t be sure!
